DATES & TIMES:  Saturday, August 30 – Monday, September 1, 2008,  10:00 – 5:00 pm. 

LOCATION:  Located just 15 miles northwest of Atlanta and just south of the NorthGeorgiaMountains is the City of Marietta. Marietta serves as the county seat in the center of Cobb County, Georgia.   Art in the Park is located in and around GloverPark located on the historic Marietta Square in downtown Marietta.  

ART:  All pieces must be hand crafted by the artist.  Resale or wholesale items (buy/sell) are not permitted and will result in immediate dismissal without refund.  No manufactured, imported items or raw materials will be allowed.  Accepted categories include jewelry, pottery, glass, painting, photography, textile, wood and other fine art forms.  Artists may only show and sell work from the category in which they have been accepted. 

ARTIST:  The artist must arrive on time and stay for the duration of the festival.  Artists may not open their booth late or close early.  No agents, dealers, or representative may attend in place of the artist.  Only one artist may display in a booth unless the work produced is a collaboration of two artists. 

BOOTH:  Booth size is either 10 X 10 or 10 X 20.  Booths are on either brick or asphalt-weighting tents is mandatory.   Artists must furnish their own tent, display tables, skirting, & chairs.  All displays must be designed, constructed, and operated in good taste.  All displays, sales and promotional activities must be confined to artists’s assigned space.  Power is available in predetermined areas only and must be requested on the application for consideration.  Portable generators or drop cords across the walkway are not permitted. 

PARKING:  Free artists parking (trailers, motor homes and vehicles) is available 1 block off the festival site.  Artists must park in the designated parking area with the exception of set up and tear down. 

SET UP:  Either Friday, August 29th from 6:30 – 9:00 pm or Saturday, August 20th from 6:00 – 9:00 am. 

Early set up is available for booths located inside the park.   All cars must be removed from the festival area 30 minutes before the festival begins and returned to the artists parking area.  Vehicles are not permitted in the festival area during the festival hours. 

TEAR DOWN:  May begin at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 1st; however, vehicles are not permitted in the festival area until 5:30 pm. 

SECURITY:  Management provides nominal after hour security for the festival with the understanding that the Marietta Business Association, the City of Marietta or the festival show coordinator will assume any liability for lost, stolen or damaged items. 

FEES:  The booth fee (10 X10 - $175.00, 10 X 20 - $350.00) and the $25.00 non-refundable jury fee (separate check required) must be submitted along with the signed application.  Artists are solely responsible for collecting, reporting and submitting payment to the Georgia Department of Revenue, Sales and Use Tax Division.  No refunds will be issued once acceptance notification letters have been mailed.  Those applications not accepted will receive their photos and booth fee check in the mail.

    Application deadline:  Postmarked on April 30, 2008

    Notification notices:  Mailed by June 27th.  Those placed on the Waiting List will receive a notification via email. 

PHOTOS-NO SLIDES:  Must be accurate, clear and up-to-date.  Submit a total of 5 photos (4X6 only), one photo of the artists in the workshop working (tools, supplies, work area should be seen), one of the booth display and three photos of the individual art pieces.
